The Orange County Fire Authority provides notices to the public of major incidents (such as major earthquakes, mud/land slides, and vegetation fires) within its jurisdiction. If your cell phone is able to receive text messages and you would like to receive this information on your cell phone, enter your 10-digit cell phone number, select your cell phone service provider, and click "Subscribe". Or you can send a text message with the word "Join" from your cell phone to ocfamob-join@listserve.com.

NOTES:

  • Text messages are limited to 140 characters and may be subject to fees according to your cellular phone plan. A monthly test message will be sent to your cell phone on the first of each month at noon. Your cell phone number will be used for no other purpose.
  • If you mobile device can receive e-mails (which are not limited to 140 characters and can contain links to additional information), click here.

These text messages are for casual public interest and do not consitute official warnings or an advisory system. There is no guarantee as to the frequency, timeliness, or accuracy of these messages. Except in extreme cases, text messages will only be sent between the hours of 8:00 AM and 8:00 PM.

    For detailed and frequently updated information about major incidents, please log on to the OCFA website at www.ocfa.org using a computer, or tune into your local radio or TV news. In addition to text messages, our Website and our Information Center will provide frequent major incident updates.
